Prayer for the Eternal Presence

O silent eternity,
who breathes behind the hours,
which remains unmoved
as worlds are created and pass away —
Let us feel your presence.
Not far above the stars,
not hidden at unreachable heights,
but silently present
in the innermost space of the heart.
When the noise of thinking subsides
and the restless waves of life fall silent,
An unnamed field opens.
your infinite peace.
There is no more pushing and shoving there,
no becoming and losing,
just a vast, silent being,
Carried by your eternal light.
O hidden presence,
You go silently
through the depths of the soul.
You wait behind every longing,
behind every pain
behind every human quest.
Let's sink deeper.
as thoughts and memories,
deeper than fear and hope,
until we touch that still center,
dissolves in time
and the present eternity remains.
Expand our consciousness.
Make our hearts transparent.
Make our being still enough,
so that your truth may shine like a golden dawn
can rise within us.
For behind the transient world
There rests an immortal peace.
And behind the personality
An eternal soul lives there,
Carried by the light of infinity.
O eternity,
We do not call upon you as an escape,
but as a living present
in the middle of life.
Permeate our thoughts.
Permeate our bodies.
Penetrate the Earth itself
with your silent infinity.
And when it all passes away,
when names, forms, and hours fall apart,
Let one thing remain within us:
the silent memory
to your boundless being.
