Prayer of Free Will

O You who dwell in the heart of the will,
deeper than desire
quieter than thought,
come closer.
Release me
out of the haste of habits,
from the pressure of the old forces,
who call themselves Will
and yet they are only repetition.
Free my actions
of fear and desire,
from the compulsion to choose
without knowing it.
Let me recognize
the place inside me
where your will
and mine
do not contradict each other.
Teach me
not to fight against the course of things,
but to wake up
for its meaning.
Make my will clear,
transparent to your light,
firm without hardness
free without separation.
I do not want to act out of separation,
I still want to lose myself in the current.
I want to agree
without giving up on myself.
Let my yes
to come from the soul,
not out of habit
not out of coercion.
Thus my will will
a silent tool of your truth,
and my freedom
conscious participation
at the work of the Eternal.
